Year 2026 Plans Blog Banner

Here’s what you didn’t know about my year 2026 plans post – I seriously thought I couldn’t make it, deadline-wise.

As you can see here, I’m someone who tends to clear the deck first so that I can go to town with it.

But this month?

They’re nothing but chaotic.

Sure, you can argue that December is a chaotic month, since it’s when you want to wrap up everything before you begin the year with a clean slate.

But in my case, this month, in particular, is by far the most chaotic I’ve ever experienced.

And that is saying something about my year 2025 in general.

My year 2025 in a nutshell

Good for you if 2025 is an amazing year for you.

But for me, it’s a terrible year.

I don’t know what kind of karmic acts I did in the past; it all came to me with a punch in the gut.

Fortunately, I survived the attack.

But I certainly don’t want to experience that ever again.

Despite all those terrible things, it’s amazing that I can still manage to achieve some of the goals that I set in 2025.

It’s just that they’re mainly on the fiction side of things, though.

There’s nothing much happening on the nonfiction front.

Even so, I’m still glad that I managed to make them happen this year, since they were something that I’ve wanted to do for the longest time.

Publish a box set for my book

After a year or two in the making, the box set edition of my Trigger Locked series is finally here.

While I have yet to put it up for pre-order on Kobo, the box set is available for purchase right away on my brand-new WooCommerce store.

As for my plan to publish the hardback and large print edition of my books?

Sad to say, I have to scrap it altogether for a specific reason. You can read my post here about my decision not to publish the hardback and large print edition of my book.

Does it mean my plan to publish my book in hardback is long gone at this point?

Of course, the answer is no.

The hardback is still in the card; it’s just that it won’t be my focus for now.

Even if it does, it will be for nonfiction since the hardback version is perfect as a gift.

Distribute my books to Google Play and the library system

I thought distributing my books to Google Play would be easy peasy, like I would with Amazon.

But nope, Google Play thought I was a scam, so they refused to approve my account.

Until I can prove to them that I own what I write and resolve those issues, my books won’t be available for sale on Google Play Books.

Of course, I’m currently working on it.

But with so many things I need to do for the Trigger Locked series’ new edition releases, I have to put resolving the Google Play issue on hold for now.

While my books may not be available on Google Play Books, at least they’re now available in the library system through Draft2Digital.

Just like my books on the retailers’ website, you will have to wait for the book’s official release before you can look for it in the library system.

Migrate the online store to WooCommerce

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, but the current WooCommerce setup isn’t like the one I had years ago.

They’re all pretty technical, and the wrong setup can mess up the entire store.

Thankfully, Gemini is here to guide me throughout the setup process.

So, it doesn’t feel that daunting having to do the setup on my own.

I’m halfway through completing the setup as I write this.

If everything is according to the plan, you can expect to see my WooCommerce store up and running in January 2026 at the earliest.

My year 2026 plans

For the obvious reasons, my year 2026 plans will consist of the things that I didn’t get to do in 2025, with a few new things in between.

So these are the things that I plan to do in 2026.

And yes, some of them are indeed wild, at least for me.

Publish Self-Publishing 101 Blueprint

I’ve been doing it for quite some time at this point.

And like most people who have been doing this for a long time, I do have a lot of things to say about this topic.

While my initial plan was to release just one massive self-publishing guide, I decided to turn it into a series instead.

Why is that, you wonder?

Considering how massive the book is, I can bet that it’ll be a doorstopper book, especially in print.

And I doubt anybody would want a doorstopper nonfiction book, even if they’re getting it in an ebook.

As always, I have yet to figure out the book title, and I find that the title Self-Publishing 101 Blueprint seems to fit more as a series title rather than a book title.

But for now, let’s settle on the Self-Publishing 101 Blueprint as the title until I can figure out what the actual title for the book will be.

Publish a companion workbook

You’ve read the book, and now it’s time to put what you’ve read into action.

Rather than leaving them in your head, you should put them on paper instead.

This is where the companion workbook comes into play.

And it’s even more so for a book like mine to have a companion workbook.

Of course, it’s a great way to add another source of income, too, besides the usual print and ebook formats.

Create a membership site

To be honest, I don’t mind sharing everything I know on my blog.

But there are things that I can’t share on my blog, especially when they revolve around sensitive data.

So, the best way to go about it is to create a membership site so that I can share what I know and do in much greater detail without getting scrutinized.

As always, I have yet to lay out what the membership site will entail as I write this.

Heck, I don’t even know if I should host the membership section on my website or use something like Substack.

But one thing I know for sure is that I want to make it happen this year, if possible.

Create a WooCommerce store for The Efficient You website

Well, that’s a given, considering that I have a WooCommerce store for the fiction side of things.

So, I figure this website should be the same.

Knowing me, I do have a specific plan once I have the WooCommerce store up and running on this website.

I can’t say for sure what they are,

And even if I do have it, I’m going to save it for the next year, though.

Learn about estate planning and start implementing what I learn

Like most people, I heard a lot about estate planning, but I didn’t seem to think much about it until now.

Since I’m thinking about taking my author business to the next level, I may as well get started with the estate planning, right?

For now, my goal here is to learn as much as I can about estate planning and start implementing it little by little.

As you can tell, this will be a long-term implementation.

So, there’s a big chance I will still have to work on it even in the coming year.

2026 will be a good year, and I can feel it

Call me optimistic, but I feel like 2026 will be a banner year for all of us.

Whether will it become a truly amazing year is something that I’m not sure of.

But regardless of what you think about the year 2026, all I can say is let’s start the year on a positive note, shall we?

And I don’t see anything wrong with that either.
