Small Business Deals April 2026 Blog Banner

Buckle up, people, because we’re having another rant again in this month’s Small Business Deals: April 2026 Edition post.

Since AI seems to be on everybody’s mind, I’m sure that many of you have come across the article about this author raking in dough from her AI-generated books.

And the reaction to what this author does is already expected – the author community is coming after her with a pitchfork.

So, what’s my take on this one, you ask?

Do I join these people coming after her with a pitchfork as well?

Or am I fine with letting her use AI to create thousands of books and flood them into the market?

Well, my take is simple – you’re free not to use AI in your writing and other parts of your author business if you’d like.

But don’t be surprised that you’ll fall way behind authors who embrace AI.

And please, DO NOT attack people for using AI in their writing and business, as if it’s the wrong thing to do.

Everybody has different circumstances.

If AI can solve the problems, let them have it their way, even if what they do is against your AI’s moral conduct.

I’ll leave it at that for now before I get myself way too heated up on this topic.

Instead, let’s have a look at what’s in store for you in this month’s Small Business Deals: April 2026 Edition.

Make editing so much easier with ProWritingAid

It’s no secret here that I use ProWritingAid to rewrite sensory descriptions in my manuscript.

Well, what can I say?

I’m just not that good with putting the show-don’t-tell concept into practice.

And we all know it’s the sensory description that brings the story to life, since we have only words to flesh out the story.

It’s either that the sentence I write simply falls flat, or it’s too wordy.

At least that’s what Gemini told me when I asked for the opinion on this new paragraph that I rewrote.

Good for you if writing sensory descriptions isn’t much of an issue for you.

But if you’re like me, who struggles to write concise and engaging sensory descriptions, this is where software like ProWritingAid comes in.

For those who aren’t familiar with ProWritingAid, it’s an AI editing software that provides you with analyses on all the things you need to do to improve your manuscript.

When it comes to analyses, it doesn’t just do the overall analyses of your manuscript.

Its rephrase feature allows you to rewrite the sentences in whichever way you think will fit the context.

It can be rephrasing the sentence with more sensory details, for better clarity and fluency, and so much more.

You can read this post here for more details about ProWritingAid and my experience with using the software.

ProWritingAid is currently running a Spring Sale where you can get 25% off on their Yearly Premium and Yearly Premium Pro licenses.

But this offer won’t be available for long since it will only be available until April 13, 2026.

Think ProWritingAid is what you need to make editing your manuscript so much easier?

A note about using an AI tool to edit your manuscript

Some of you may find software like ProWritingAid unnecessary when you can use ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to do the same thing.

What’s more, you can do all that even with the free version.

There’s no reason for you to splurge on ProWritingAid when you can use this generic AI tool to do the same thing as ProWritingAid.

Well, you’re not wrong about that.

You don’t need to use dedicated software like ProWritingAid when these AI tools can do the same thing that ProWritingAid does.

So, what’s the valid reason why you should get ProWritingAid, you wonder?

Well, it’s the fact that you can do rephrasing with a click of a button, of course.

Sure, you can do the same with the generic AI tools, minus the click-of-a-button stuff.

But imagine having to retype the same rephrasing prompts over and over again for the 50th time.

That’s actually so miserable, if you ask me, since that was what I experienced when I did the line editing for my book using Gemini.

Another reason to get a dedicated tool like ProWritingAid?

It’s for the manuscript analysis purposes.

Unless you have no issues with having these AIs use your manuscript for training purposes, it’s best that you do it in a more private and secure space.

Just to be clear, there’s nothing wrong with using these generic AI tools.

But if you want something that can make editing so much easier, consider getting ProWritingAid, which you can sign up for with any of the licenses right here:

Going analog doesn’t have to be so blah, thanks to this LSW Morning Notes

LSW Morning Notes

As much as I love using AI and any advanced technology to manage my day-to-day business operations, there are some things that I prefer to go analog.

And one of them is planning for my day.

If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, you know how much I love bullet journaling.

But I get that not everybody likes the blank slate that the bullet journaling tends to have.

If you prefer something that is more guided, consider having a look at the LSW Morning Notes.

Yes, you can argue that the LSW Morning Notes is nothing like your typical planner.

But what makes the LSW Morning Notes is that it takes your well-being into consideration besides the usual goals and aspiration stuff.

Besides setting the goal for the day and providing you with a monthly and three-month review section, it also comes with a journal prompt and a gratitude exercise.

I’ll be clear here that this sort of stuff isn’t for everyone.

But if you want to begin your journey into the act of mindfulness, then the LSW Morning Notes is a good start.

You can get the journal right here on the LSW London website:
